We Care Campaign is a grassroots organisation led by unpaid carers, working to make caring visible and amplify the voices of unpaid carers. We want to make policy reflect the reality of our lives.
We support journalists, broadcasters and editors with credible comment, lived-experience insight and fast, reliable responses on unpaid caring, social care and disability benefits.
Our strength is simple: we live this.
“Social care is a key part of our coverage at the Guardian. I can rely on Katy Styles and We Care Campaign for authentic, compelling insights into the lives ofcarers and the challenges they face, as well as a valuable understanding of the grassroots impacts of national policy decisions.”
Patrick Butler, Social Policy Editor, The Guardian

We also work with a network of unpaid carers across the UK who have completed our spokesperson training and are supported to speak to the media.
These carers are available for interviews and contribute insight from different regions and caring situations. We are careful and ethical in how carers’ stories are shared and supported. Carers are briefed, supported and never expected to speak beyond their own experience.
